About AEFF high resolution ARW

The Advanced Research WRF is a flexible, nonhydrostatic atmospheric simulation system with a variety of of radiative and microphysical schemes well suited to forecasting the weather in regions with complex terrain and extreme temperature, pressure and precipitation gradients.

AEFF runs version 3.1 of the ARW eulerian mass core twice daily. Our regular runs include 3km horizontal grids and a high resolution boundary layer. Important options and differences between our default 3km runs (3km) and enhanced microphysical runs (mph) include:

For the list of namelist options for the AEFF "mph" runs, please reference namelist.input.mph . You will find the complete list of namelist options referenced in the ARW Version 3 Users Guide.

Please note that AEFF plans to move to ARW version 3.5 October 1, 2013.
