The Alaska Experimental Forecast Facility (AEFF) is a new cooperative partnership among University of Alaska Anchorage, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Weather Service (NWS).
In this partnership:
| • The FAA is charged with the mission of ensuring safe aircraft travel in Alaska, |
| • The NWS must provide the observational database and forecasting guidance needed by pilots to make safe, well-informed decisions. |
| • The AEFF, a UAA entity, brings meteorological expertise and research capability to the partnership. |
